Happy Father's Day to all the amazing dad's out there!
For all of the father's that are no longer with us, or even soon to be father's, this day is still for you.
While this is the second Father's Day for my husband, it kind of feels like the first. His first father's day, he was still a rookie daddy. Only a month and some days had he been a dad. While he was a great dad in that short time, this past year I have really got to watch him grown into this amazing father. He has dealt with the sleepless nights, the poopy diapers, the sicknesses, ME! And he has handled it all pretty well, I have to say.

The love he has for our daughter is unlike anything I have ever seen before. The smile that little girl brings to his face is so big and heartfelt, I sometimes think he is just going to cry with happiness. And that makes me feel like the luckiest woman in the world!
It is kind of funny, because a few days ago a came across some old messages him and I had exchanged when I was going through fertility treatments, and this one in particular literally made me laugh out loud. He said was talking about how he couldn't wait to be a dad and I asked him what type of dad he thought he would be. He was very quick to say,
"I know I will be a tough dad. Most likely the mean one, because that's how my dad was to me."
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sorry babe, not trying to call you out.....well, actually I guess I kind of am. = )
For anyone who has not seen him with Rowan, he is THE. BIGGEST. SOFTY. This girl has him wrapped soooo tight around her finger, ya'll. He cannot tell her no. Far from "tough" I promise. It's just funny to think about that because before that baby gets here, you think you may be the certain way as a parent, but until they are here, you really have no idea how much they are going to affect you. And I am sure the fact that we had a baby girl first, has a lot to do with it.

Something about daddy's with their baby girls, is way different than daddy's with baby boys. If we had a boy, he may have been a little "tougher." But when that little girl looks at him, he can't help but melt. I feel like dads with boys, they feel like they can be tougher on. But we don't have a boy yet so I could be wrong. Just speaking from what I've heard from other parents.
I feel like my dad was easier on me than he was my brother.
But all dads are different of course. What is that one special thing you have with you dads? Maybe it's a saying, a song, secret handshake, or a certain day out of the year that you always do something together. Things like this are so important to have with our parents and create with our own children. Something for them to always remember and maybe even pass on to their children.
Take the time to show your dad's how much they mean to you, today!
For those dad's that are livin it up in Heaven, take the time to celebrate them today and remanence on the time you spent together.
Always put your children first. Do what is best for them. Love them unconditionally. Be present!
That is all you can do.
Thank you to all you superman dads. And remember, its okay to be a softy every now and then. They are only little for so long!
